There is another bag of stuffed animals that needs to be decided about. There are a couple that I will keep even if you don't want them. (Simba, Rosie, and the Christmas Bears) The rest will go to good will unless one of you claims them. There are a couple of ratty stuffed dogs, a couple of bears, the Halloween Bears, and the Big Bad Wolf from Busch Gardens. None of them jumped out at me as being special to either of you except Rosie and Simba, and maybe the wolf. Half of them i didn't even recognize. I think most of the special ones were in the bag Jess took last time. Let me know ASAP cause I'm hoping to make a goodwill run by the end of the week.

Jim and I spent a good part of the day out looking for help wanted signs, and filling out applications for employment. While we were out, I picked up veggies and noodles for my famous turkey soup.(yes Jess, I will put some in the freezer and save it for you) Most of the evening the house smelled wonderfully of soup simmiering on the stove. For me, it is now officially winter. Not that you'd know it by the temperature the last few days. The snow we got on Thanksgiving is gone. There are scattered small piles from the plows in parking lots, but that's it. But my first pot of soup is made, and so it is winter in my book. So Happy Winter to all.....

So it's been over a month since i posted and lots has happened. Thanks much to Mark, Ehrich, Chris, Adam and Dave, without whom we could never have gotten the truck loaded. And special thanks to Dave for somehow managing to make the leaving a little easier for Jess. Leaving all of the kids behind is hard, but Jess seems so damn miserable that any distraction to her is greatly apprecoiated, so Jess pass on my thanks to Dave.
We arrived here at the house around 5ish Sunday night. We unpacked the stuff from Marks car and decided that we were toast and the truck would have to wait till morning. We went for dinner with Mark, then sat watching an amazing storm pass over the lake. Unfortunately Mark had a rough ride home due to the same storm.
Monday Jim and I unloaded the truck, which contained most of the furniture from our 3 bedroom house, into our 1 bedroom furnished apartment. Right now most of what we own is in boxes and bags in one of the attached cabins, basically floor to ceiling, wall to wall.But we managed to get everything off the truck by ourselves on Monday so we got the truck back on time.
Tuesday and wednesday we managed to get the bedroom and living room set up, and Jim got the sound system wired up and running, unfortunately the arrival of the cable man has messed it all up and he's flipped out cause there is no picture to go with the sound.
And so it goes. Hopefully we'll make a serious dent in the pile next week. And start looking for employment as well. Rich and Manda will be here on Friday, and stay for the early part of the week. I'm definately looking foward to that. Ehrich and Arthur are here now, and that's nice as well. Now we need to figure out a visit from Jess and one from Jamie and Kari and all will be complete in my world for a while. Then it will have to begin again.

Dear boy,

the whole point of a live journal was so i could keep track oy everyone. how can i keep track of you when you only post randomly...post more often please, and send an e-mail or 2 to your dad

and so you're gone. it's been less than 24 hours, and i've had you not here longer than that often, but somehow knowing you're 300 miles away makes it harder. but jess will be coming home tomorrow and that helps. I miss jess. I hope you had a good first day. take care of eachother (as if i really had to say that). i love you both. don't forget to call once in a while. jess i'll see you tomorrow. call jim when you wake up and let him know what yur plans are.

So if Manda comes to pick up rich today I'll see her for maybe 5 minutes and again for a few minutes on wednesday before they leave for school, then not again until probably october. I feel like I've hardly seen her since she came home and already she's going back. I know it's equally my fault, as i go to bed so early these days, but that doesn't make it any easier to accept. And Jess has spent the summer so busy that I fell i've hardly seen her either, even though she's been here alot. I've spent more time with Rich and Arthur than with the girls. Not that I don't love having the boys here, cause I do. I will miss Rich as much as I miss Manda. I's gonna be very empty around here once Faire starts and Arthur is gone every weekend too. I guess that is the lot of parents, to watch their children need them less and less, and to see them less often as well.
